Dippers

Work commitments meant that we could only bird locally over the week-end, apart from
a short visit to Stithians Reservoir. The Dippers are near to were we live and this is an
unusual shot with the Dipper's eyes closed, showing white eye-lids.

Also did some Macro at work, In my lunch hour of course. John

  5. The Dipper shots are lovely, and all the bugs very good too. During the winter here we only see an occassional bug, but they have been popping out this last week as spring begins to take hold. Birds are starting to return too, with a Junco yesterday and a Robin pair this morning in the backyard, both a sure sign of spring.

Confirms what I said recently...Dippers are a Digiscopers Bird. Excellent images John. Now that sets the standard for me to aim for if I ever can get close enough.

  16. Hi Jr and Sue.
Cracking shot of the Dipper with it's eye's closed, not often you will get to take a shot like that.
I hope they are about when I come to Cornwall at the end of June.
    Great insect photo's too.
