Early Brimstone

This was a pleasant surprise. It was one of two, found today while working on the track at

South Brent, in Devon.

  1. Lovely shots. When I first spotted the thumbnail of the first photo in my reader's list, I though it was a green leaf!

  14. That one has survived its hibernation in remarkably good condition John - I suspect it was indoors somewhere. It'll only take another cold snap to send it back into its winter quarters. Lovely images, as always, John.

  16. JR and Sue.
You did well finding the early Brimstone, I like them for their unusual shape. Like me you probably cannot wait for the other butterflies and insects to emerge.
