Great-spotted Cuckoo etc.

Finally got to see the Great -spotted Cuckoo albiet very distant. Not much else about, where have all the birds gone? Some of these shots are from Friday's visit to Stithians, the rest are from Hayle, Kenidjack and St.Just area. Still haven't found the Cattle Egrets!

  1. It amazes me how you manage to capture birds like the GS Cuckoo with the DS. I would need it to sit still for at least 15 mins! Great shots.

  4. "was a bit closer" Well I wish he was just there. We tramped around the gorse and heather for miles (so it seemed) but to no avail. John you are steadily gaining legendry status.

  7. Thanks everyone. There were quite a few people at the Cuckoo taking pictures but I think there was an advantage using a scope.
All I need now is to get the Short-eared Owl
    from down your way Sam.

  12. Hi, Great Blog! I was in your wonderful County from 2-6th April this year and had some good migrants including my earliest Tree Pipit on Sunday 5th. This was in North Cornwall however, nr Launceston. I haven't found a blog proper to that area, but will continue searching.

    Good Birding
