Poltesco

Went to Poltesco today, first time for ages, really should go more often as it's really beautiful.
We were surprised to find this Sedge warbler singing from a bramble near the edge of the cliff, as there is no water and no reed beds. We wondered if it was a late arrival taking rest. Wild Ponies had been introduced to keep the grass down but we are not sure if they are Exmoor or Dartmoor, very attractive though.

You can see the eyes on this Bumblebee!

Not very happy with this Kestrel. Think I had the ISO set too high and the sky was already
very white. Will keep practicing. Sue

  1. Nice shots, really like all the different butterfly pics, painted ladys are all over the place here too in the northwest.
I shoot all my photos at ISO800 strangely enough, but run all my images through neatimage, if you havent come across it check out my link here: http://fenphotos.blogspot.com/2009/01/noise.html (makes your images that little bit sharper), looking forward to seeing your pics too from the gladiator MT. A big thank-you for all the generous comments on the Kestrel, as some of you know I have been struggling with flight shots, and I have a way to go to catch some of you up. Sue
