This weeks birds

The series of Dipper images were taken under a bridge in Truro, hence they are a bit dark, but unusual because they show the Dippers nesting in a box. John

Out and About

Went down to see the Snowy Owl on Friday ( I fell in the Gorse, sue ), although we saw it, it was too far away to get a decent picture. Had to settle for a Wren instead, not quite the same.
The Little Egret was taken at the Library in Hayle.

Squirrel and Snowdrops

This Dunnock was taken in Duncan's Dad's garden.

Garden Birds

Well, we went out over the weekend and saw very little, usual stuff really except for one which was too far away to get a decent photo and that was a Hen Harrier at Nanquidno.
Went to Gothian Sands looking for the Ring Ouzel, no joy, just Pintail and Scaup and the resident Buzzard looking for his next meal, talking of which we did see a Carrion Crow with a Frog, of course Duncan had to go one better with the Coot at Stithians on Sunday.
These shots were taken while out and about and also around the garden, nothing very spectacular. we very often get Squirrels in our Cherry tree and we quite like them, (couldn't eat a whole one).

Rosie and Beau.

Well, we have not posted anything for almost a fortnight and that's because we haven't done very much but we are going out this week-end and are determined to remedy that.
In the mean time here are a couple of pictures of some of our pets, Rosie the white Boxer and Beau, my beautiful British short-hair cat. I know some of you birders probably don't approve but we love cats and actually have 3.

Saturday and Sundays images.

I usually take any pictures of birds in flight but as I didn't go out today John tried his hand at digi-scoping these Little Gulls at Newlyn. I have included the Black Swan that I took at Stithians last week simply because I like it. Sue

The Black-headed Gull was taken at Hayle on Saturday. The rest were taken at Newlyn, either Saturday or today. Conditions were very poor for photography, espescially yesterday. The Kittiwake's mine.(sue)

These were digi-scoped by John at St. Gothian Sands yesterday.
The Buzzard looks like he is waiting for his next meal so may well
be the same one that took the Grey Phalarope.
