At the beginning of the week we were staying in Winchester so we went across to Bentley Wood hoping for Purple Emperor, no such luck. We also called in at Collard Hill on the way up and back for Large Blue but all we got for our troubles was a Marbled White and a lot of rain.
Wat een mooie macro's van al die insecten.

groetjes Herman,
Sorry about the Purple Emperor but that's difficult. Top shots, I think I need a macro lens. Well done. Mike
ReplyDeleteAs usual, consistently amazing images from you. However, the one of the damselfly put a big smile on my face. Excellent!, and thanks for sharing them with us.
ReplyDeletePurple Emperor!, you were lucky getting a Marbled White John, what with the awful weather we have had. Not seen a Marbled White in the place I would normally expect to see as yet this year.
ReplyDeleteExcellent set. Have to admit that damselfly game me a chuckle. Peeking around that stem! :)
ReplyDeleteRegardless of what you DIDN'T find, your photos are exquisite, as always!
ReplyDeleteVery nice photos!
ReplyDeleteGreat macro photos! And so different!
ReplyDeleteExcellent macros. They're the three butterflies I've seen most of recently.
ReplyDeleteYour butterflies, especially the black and white and then the cocoa brown coloured species, amazing and the aqua blue eyes of that dragonfly/damselfly...how glorious~

ReplyDeleteThanks for leaving a comment in my blog. It's great you've been able to shoot the butterflies/moths. I had a good butterfly season in Florida, will be blogging soon.
