We went to Breney Common for Black Darter yesterday (saw a few fresh females),
and were amazed when Sue found these Purple Hairstreak butterflies.
They were in two seperate areas and we saw 25-30, probably more.
We had no idea that there was a colony there and were surprised at how many there were.

What beautiful butterflies. They look small, are they? I think that would be an impressive site, to see so many~
