YESTERDAY WE WENT UP TO BRENEY COMMON HOPING
FOR MARSH FRITILLARY AND WERE NOT
DISAPPOINTED, THEY WERE IN ABUNDANCE.
SUCH A PRETTY BUTTERFLY AND QUITE SCARCE
SO TIMING IS EVERYTHING. OF COURSE YESTERDAY'S
BRILLIANT SUNSHINE ALSO HELPED.
ALSO A FEW SMALL PEARL-BORDERED FRITILLARIES AROUND.
I guess it is safe to say that your fritillaried your day away!
ReplyDeleteLovely series of photos. A butterfly I've never seen and your photos are making me want to see one now a bit more.
ReplyDeleteWow, beautiful series of photographs of lovely butterflies!
ReplyDeleteA fabulous series of images, John. It must be well over 20 years since I've seen this species!

ReplyDeleteGreat stuff. Been away on holiday therefore not had a chance to look at Windmill. Did pop down there last night to do some tidying up and look for nightjars (no luck) and noticed there were a couple of trespassers there on 26th May. Shame I missed you!
