WE FINALLY GOT BLACK DARTER AT BRENEY COMMON,
IT TOOK THREE VISITS BUT WAS WELL WORTH IT.
MOST OF THE REST WERE TAKEN AT CROFT PASCOE
PLANTATION WHICH IS USUALLY BRILLIANT FOR HAWKERS
BUT HAD A VERY POOR SHOWING WHEN WE WERE THERE.

I CAN'T MAKE UP MY MIND ABOUT THE NEXT TWO.
ARE THEY COMMON OR MIGRANT?
THE COSTA APPEARS YELLOW, AS IN
COMMON HAWKER BUT THE ABDOMEN DIPS
AT THE END SO MAY BE MIGRANT HAWKER.
Awesome. Fantastic photos. Happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteNice series of pics.. Happy weekend..
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a black darter, what a beast!
ReplyDeleteGreat set of shots, John - I'm very envious. I've never seen a Greyling in UK! My thoughts are Common Hawker - due mainly to the length of the antehumeral stripes. Best wishes to you and Sue - - - Richard
ReplyDeleteGreat series of images! Lovely the Black Darter. I have not seen one this year. Great shot of the emperor during eating a moth! And the Lizard is fantastic! Off course, the Flycatcher is adorable!
