WE WERE IN BRISTOL LAST WEEK-END VISITING FAMILY SO
WE STOPPED AT HAMWALL NR, INITIALLY FOR BROWN HAWKER
WHICH WE SAW BUT THEY NEVER SETTLED FOR A PHOTO.
WE DID GET THESE SMALL RED-EYED AS A CONSOLATION.
Another beautiful set of images. I think the Brown Hawker is probably one of the hardest species to photograph. No surprise then that you didn't get a shot.
ReplyDeletesilver Y (Autographa gamma)..The larvae have done a lot of damage here in Finland. Awesome photos.
ReplyDeleteAn absolutely wonderful set of images, John. I'm extremely envious of your Small Red-eyed Damselfly images. It's a species I have never seen and I'd happily swap a dozen perched Brown Hawkers for just one Small Red-eyed. With my very best wishes to you and Sue - - - Richard
ReplyDeleteFantastic series. You did see indeed a lot.
