Raddes Warbler at St.Levan.

Got the Raddes Warbler at St.Levan today, albeit quite distant. This is the only decent shot and even then it needed a bit of work on it.
Nice to bump into Monty (happy birthday), and Rachel. We are off to Exeter tomorrow so may make a detour for the Black-throated Thrush if it's still around.

Black Redstart at Church Cove.

We went to Church Cove today hoping for the Green/Greenish Warbler, but only John had
good views of it, but I did have excellent views of Pied Flycatcher. We also saw Yellow-browed Warbler. The 3 Black Redstart in the cemetery were the only birds to show close enough to photograph. We then went on to Helston where several Chiff-chaff were seen and heard.
Will probably try St. Levan for the Raddes Warbler tomorrow.

This weeks Macro.

Owing to the lack of birds, have decided to post some of our other stuff from this week.
Shouldn't think the Insects will be around for much longer.
Can anyone name the 2 Fungi below. (must get a book).

Weekly Round-up.

This is just a round-up of birds seen over the last week. We didn't catch up with any of the Yellow-browed Warblers that are around at the moment. Tried for Firecrest at Helston but only saw one and that was at a distance. The water at Helston was covered in green Algae which looked really smart. We were surprised at the number of Butterflies still around, and at Kynance there were hundreds of Swallows and House Martins hawking, presumably getting ready to leave. Overall though it has been quieter than it should be for this time of year.

Spoonbill at Marazion

Sue had to work on Saturday and I worked this morning so it was around one before we got out and our first port of call was Marazion Marsh for the Spoonbill. With mist rolling in we then set off to Nanquidno for the Snow Bunting. Sue stayed in the car and at times you could hardly see 10 feet in front of you and then.....there it was. Snatched a couple of blurry shots with Sue's camera and then the battery went. By the time I'd gone back to the car for a spare, the Snow Bunting had gone, never to be seen again!! The Med. Gull was taken at Stithians.

On the way back up from Nanquidno Valley we were hijacked by these cows across the road.
It was ages before they got out of the way.

Macro Images

Not done much birding this week, but have managed some macro shots of Insects and Moths.
I particularly like this Fly feeding on some sort of Lice or Flea, (I think).
