This is just a round-up of birds seen over the last week. We didn't catch up with any of the Yellow-browed Warblers that are around at the moment. Tried for Firecrest at Helston but only saw one and that was at a distance. The water at Helston was covered in green Algae which looked really smart. We were surprised at the number of Butterflies still around, and at Kynance there were hundreds of Swallows and House Martins hawking, presumably getting ready to leave. Overall though it has been quieter than it should be for this time of year.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteDid you say it has been a calm week??? I find it already quite cool to be able to see all these species and get nice shots of them, especially the wren and the grey wagtail which are not so easy to get!!! You got beautiful shots there and nice observations. Well done!
Hi Chris, thank you for your comments.
ReplyDeleteSue took the wren, which i like best.
John.
Hi Both
ReplyDeleteGreat shots and I agree the green algae looks brill, pity you missed the Yellow browed, but I have missed all of them this week so better get my butt in gear next weekend. and Sue that Wren shot is great. Catch up with you both soon.
More great pics! I can't ever get close enough to stonechats.
ReplyDeleteNever mind the rarities John, at least you are seeing some birds & providing us with a nice collection to view. Cheers FAB.
ReplyDeleteSuperb selection of shots, the wag is my favourite. You got love the local birds ( feathered variety that is)
ReplyDeleteI am in the same boat, just local this weekend no rarities. Cracking shot of the wren needs to be enlarged to see the quality.
ReplyDeleteGreat collection again from you both. The Wren and the Pied Wagtail on the rock are my favouries.
ReplyDeleteMy favs are the wren and stonechat; so much delicate details in their feathers and their poses seem to hold so much meaning.
ReplyDeleteThe pics of the wren and stonechat are outstanding! I agree with Wilma's assessment. The wren is in the perfect wren pose; they're so lively and are always ready for action. I love the shot of the Pied Wagtail too.
ReplyDeleteMy fav is the Stonechat, beautiful marking and the black eyering.
ReplyDeleteGrey wagtails have started arriving in our part of the world. I've spotted them since a fortnight ago.
best regards, madi
Hi JR and Sue.
