Weekly Round-up.

This is just a round-up of birds seen over the last week. We didn't catch up with any of the Yellow-browed Warblers that are around at the moment. Tried for Firecrest at Helston but only saw one and that was at a distance. The water at Helston was covered in green Algae which looked really smart. We were surprised at the number of Butterflies still around, and at Kynance there were hundreds of Swallows and House Martins hawking, presumably getting ready to leave. Overall though it has been quieter than it should be for this time of year.

  1. Hi,
Did you say it has been a calm week??? I find it already quite cool to be able to see all these species and get nice shots of them, especially the wren and the grey wagtail which are not so easy to get!!! You got beautiful shots there and nice observations. Well done!

  7. I am in the same boat, just local this weekend no rarities. Cracking shot of the wren needs to be enlarged to see the quality.

  9. My favs are the wren and stonechat; so much delicate details in their feathers and their poses seem to hold so much meaning.

  10. The pics of the wren and stonechat are outstanding! I agree with Wilma's assessment. The wren is in the perfect wren pose; they're so lively and are always ready for action. I love the shot of the Pied Wagtail too.
