JR, alive and well in Texas.

We have recently come back from 2 weeks in Texas and New Mexico. We had a great time, Texas was very hot and New Mexico was very chilly. Following a change of Itinerary we also crossed into Arizona for an hour or two.
Altogether we saw 252 birds, 50 of which were lifers.
One of my pet hates is dates on photos and unfortunately when I was changing camera settings I left the date in. Some I have been able to crop out but not all.

Roadrunner

Loggerhead Shrike

Ringed Kingfisher

Belted Kingfisher

  7. I'm with Julie about travelling west, the images are fantastic and the quality of the light looks fantastic too. I haven't got a clue when it comes to American birds, any chance of a few labels on them.

    1. Thankyou everyone for your comments and for simply taking the time to look at our blog.
Also, thanks go to James P.Smith for leading a great trip.

I would love to put floating labels on, which I used to do when using the old style blogger, but that doesn't seem to work with the new style,so if anyone can email me an idiots guide to putting them on, I will gladly do it. I have awful trouble all round with the new style blogger,is it possible to go back to the old style for posting? Sue

  10. Hi John & Sue
Glad you both had a great trip, and this set of images is just stunning and shows what great birds you saw.
Can't remember how the floating id used to work on the old blogs, and that's why I name my images now.
Hope to see you both soon.

    1. Hi John. If you want to stop anonymous little scrotes like this hijacking your blog to publicise their highly dubious wares, go into Blogger settings, then the comments section, and then in the 'who can comment' section, hit the 'registered users' button and make sure the 'anyone' button is de-selected. It's stopped all my spam from these despicable individuals, but not stopped anyone legitimate from commenting on my blog.

  15. Hi John and Sue. Having got that off my chest about anonymous spam - what a fabulous trip you had. So many absolutely brilliant birds, and stunning photogrpahy to match!! Had wondered why you'd been so quiet!

    1. Thanks Richard, Just done it. Now if I we could only get posting photos sorted we'd be ok. The appearance on the blog bears no resemblance to the layout in the draft!! must be doing something wrong. Have tried changing to Firefox as suggested by Douglas but it made no difference. Do you or anyone else know how to move pictures around in draft so that they stay there. I find it very hard to just drag them into position, it just seems to have a mind of it's own. Sue and John

  16. I feel I caused some of your troubles - lol. I had left a comment on what wonderful photos, but didn't know the identity of a lot of them. Thank your for identifying them, but I sure don't know how to solve your picture-posting problem. I never have been able to move photos around manually either.
