Spiders and Butterflies

Have finally persuaded the editor (Sue) to put a couple of Spiders up. In the first set of shots you can see the extra long front legs of the Crab Spider wrapped around his prey, which in turn has made a vain, and almost successful attempt at escaping.

Have never seen a Footman or a Common Blue holding their wings like this.

I didn't realise that the Peacock is almost black underneath.

I am amazed at the difference in colour of these two Gatekeepers. After checking the book,

I think the darker one is a Male.

Bugs Abound.

Lots of Bugs and Moths around at the moment and some are really attractive up close,
not sure Sue would agree with me though, she much prefers Birds and Butterflies.




None of these Moths were trapped. Some were found in buildings at work and some in the
house, one was even found in the Greenhouse.

I know the Marbled White Butterfly is very tatty, but I have included it because I've not

seen one in Cornwall before. John
