I finally caught up with the Glossy Ibis at Tregony today. There were actually two there.

XMAS

We have not done much birding or posted anything for ages but we thought this American Robin
in the snow, taken on our trip to Texas and New Mexico, would make a nice Christmas post.
Hopefully, in the New Year we will get back to it.
We would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy & Peaceful New Year.

Paington Zoo.

We have not done much birding lately so we thought we would put up some pictures from a recent trip to the zoo with 2 of our grand-daughters to see the newly-born baby Giraffe and while they enjoyed it, it just re-enforced what we had always thought- we don't like them. While there is always the conservation arguement and we can see the point in that, most of the 'inmates' are not rare or endangered and for the most part looked very sad, especially the Apes and the Big Cats.
Below is a picture of Ellie and Madison, guess which one's the tomboy.

GREAT NORTHERN DIVER.

This adult Great Northern Diver was showing really well at Long Rock Pool.

Everything's Looking Rosy.

These images were digi-scoped over the past week. The Rats came out when I was photographing the Med. Gull and were not at all nervous, scavenging for bread within three feet of me.
The Starling was in Morrisons carpark and is not the prettiest of birds, but nice to see.

BIRDING at PENDEEN.

We had a great day yesterday at Pendeen, with migrants blown in and
others like the Flycatchers waiting to fly out.
We saw a Wryneck but didn't get a photo, but while John was busy digiscoping the Shrike,
which was too far off for my camera, I did manage to get a Snow Bunting.

The Last 2 Weeks.

We have had terrible computer problems, all fixed now, hence the lack of posts.
We thought we had better get something up or you'll all think we're dead and buried.
John's taken these over the last few weeks.
