These were taken over the last couple of days, mostly by Sue.
Give it a few more weeks and most of these will be finished.

This Hawker is half-way through eating a fly, you can still see its head.
The poor thing was still struggling.
Not sure about this Butterfly. I would like it to be a Brown Argus
but I suspect it is a very brown Common Blue female.
Such amazing photos of these wonderful butterflies ! Thanks for sharing !
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend :)
Great set there John. The Clouded Yellow is my favourite, I haven't had much luck with these, they are on they are constantly on the move.

An excellent selection. Well done John and Sue.

ReplyDeleteReally good variety of wildlife shots. Great picture of the triple Golden-Ringed Dragonfly, talk about right place at the right time.
Lovely. I especially like the arrangement of the emerald damselfly.
ReplyDeleteA superb set of shots John, all of them top class.
ReplyDeleteAnother cracking set John and Sue, look really good especially when enlarged
ReplyDeleteGreat photo's love it.
ReplyDeletephoto 7 is unique! And I also think that the last photo is a very bruin female Common Blue

Those 3 Golden-ringed are amazing. I can imagine the language if they had flown off as you approached them!!!
ReplyDeleteje ziet de natuur de greep krijgen de herfst doet al zijn intrede.
ReplyDeleteGood series of images! What a lot of different butterflies! :-)
ReplyDeleteAn excellent selection. Well done John and Sue.
ReplyDeleteLovely set of shots - amazing to see the 3 Golden-ringed dragonflies like that! It's a shame you didn't see the underside of your final butterfly but it does seem as though the Brown Argus is having a good year, so, it's certainly very possible.
ReplyDeleteLovely set John,
ReplyDeleteI see what you mean about the last image.
Hope to see you soon.
These are all magnificent shots, John!
ReplyDeleteThe 3 cordulegaster together is also a sight I have never seen, what a catch!!
It probably is the sign that few females were in the vicinity so the extra male tried his luck but grabbed the male instead of the female!!
Enjoy the end of the week :)
You're welcome!!

This really is a wonderful series of pictures. It shows so many different aspects of nature and all the images are captivating - to say nothing of clear, sharp and well composed. A fine job indeed.
ReplyDeleteHi friend.. Thanks for your comment.. great macro of these beautiful butterflies and Dragonflies. .. Well-done..
ReplyDeleteHi John and Sue. Just catching up after a holiday in Dorset. I'd been hoping to see Golden Ring dragons, but didn't. Totally knocked out by your image of three of them!! The whole series of images is magnificent! I did see a few Clouded Yellow, but none of them stopped for a photo.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for your comments.
ReplyDeleteJohn and Sue
