CATCHING UP.

Here are a few shots from the last couple of weeks. The Great White Egret is some way off.
The Ring Ouzel would also have been closer had it not been for an elderly couple who
flushed them after I had spent ages creeping up on them (the birds not the couple!).

  1. Hi John, the Ring Ouzels are not easy are they, glad you managed to get a pic though, plus a fine set of birds. You will not see
anything from me for three weeks or so as im off up to the Highlands :-)

  2. That's a super selection of quality shots. Not sure the bath did the Rook's looks any favours!

  4. An absolutely delightful set of images, John. Even those of the more common birds are wonderful - I particularly like the Rook images!

I'm envious of your Ring Ouzel image. My attempt, like yours, was disrupted. In my case, we arrived at the location to find that a woman had put her extremely lively dog over the dry-stone wall to run amok in the field that the Ring Ouzels (16 of them!) were in. Needless to say, the birds cleared off! Six of them roosted in a distant tree and came down to the ground later, but at a very great distance.

Best wishes to you both - - - Richard

  8. Hello John, Ring Ouzels are indeed not that common. I had a big laugh by reading about the old couple. My imagination was running wild. Great captures.

  15. Great shots of the Ring Ouzel. This is a species that I have never been able to find when I have visited the UK. I will be there in late July so maybe I'll have a chance this time.
