LAST FROM BULGARIA.

This is the last of our pictures from Bulgaria.
It is mostly insects which we hope we have identified correctly.
The first picture is an Ant-lion, the first we have seen.
They can grow very large and look like a Dragonfly  when flying.
The Mammoth Wasps are huge but apparently
harmless, didn't put it to the test though.

  10. You have found the extraordinary beauty in each creature. Colours, patterns, facial expressions - each photograph a treasure. The second photo, a shieldbug, seems to have a face on its back :) The wallcreeper is especially breathtaking.

  11. A truly great set of images, but my jaw dropped when I saw the Wallcreeper. I would imagine that this species is very high on the most-wanted list of most world birders. It certainly is on mine.

  15. Good afternoon JR and Sue: I just noticed on Richard Pegler's blog that you may be planning a trip to Canada in the near future. If you make it to southern Ontario be sure to let me know. We'll be glad to help you do some birding, provide a few home cooked meals and whatever else we can do to enhance your experience.
