Great shots guys. I love that third shot with the light through the fanned tail feathers. Such a beautiful bird... perfection. It was great to see you both and to see the "Master" at work :-) Hope to see you again soon.
Great collection John and Sue. I just wish you did not make digiscoping look so simple...which it is not. Very interesting new gadgets..some I will be looking into in the near future.. Lovely to see you both again.
Everyone I am sure left the site happy...it was a very accommodating bird indeed.
A lovely series despite the unfavorable lighting (you could have fooled me!). Cedar Waxwings are so very beautiful at any angle ... as seen by your wonderful photos.
They are such lovely little birds. Cedar waxwings migrate through here but are around so briefly that I often miss them. They look very similar to your waxwings.
Pics look pretty good to me.Havent seen any Waxwings locally since the birds in the garden but they're around. And by the way how do you manage to get so many enthusiastic followers?
These are pretty darned good shots for 'poor light'! Waxwings are one of my favorites! I read once that they got their name because they are such a beautiful bird, it's as if they are cast in wax! ~karen
Our thanks to everyone. With Christmas almost here we, like a lot of others have been too busy for much birding but couldn't let the chance of a Waxwing go by. Hi Bob, Don't know why we have so many followers but I suppose we must be doing something right and we really do appreciate them all.
Hmmmm...He was all alone? That's interesting. You still captured some nice images, even if the lighting 'was' a challenge.
ReplyDeleteDespite the poor light you grabbed a nice selection of this colourful species.
ReplyDeleteI think they are a super selection of shots despite the poor light.Hoping some land near me.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, despite the 'poor light'. I am beginning to hate Waxwings though, as I have not managed to catch up with any!

ReplyDeleteThe light may not have been brilliant but your results are!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images of a much sought after bird. We have some around the area at the moment, but I have never been that lucky to see them.
