As you may have noticed we have put nothing up for a couple of weeks. Sue's been working overtime and I've been having camera trouble. We did go to Exminster at the week-end and the Marshes were frozen as was most of the land around Powderham. The Avocets were taken at Topsham but most of the mudflats were frozen, keeping everything at a distant.
Lovely species and superbly digiscoped.
ReplyDeleteExcellant images John. Avocet are a target of mine for Febuary, undecided yet though on Exminster Marshes or the Lynher. Fancy Spoonbill as well so the Plymouth area may win.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sam.
ReplyDeleteSimon we saw about 300 plus,Topsham is a great place to see large numbers of Avocet.
John.
Super set of images, love the second one, never seen one let alone photographed one myself so slightly jealous.
ReplyDeleteFine images John, not bad at all for "distant shots" quality is there ok.
ReplyDeleteSplendid images! The Avocet is such a beautiful, refined looking bird. Lovely reflection in the 4th photo. Stunning work ... as always!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots! Your Avocets are black and white? Ours black and white, with rust colors.
ReplyDeleteLove those avocet...great images ;)
ReplyDeleteThey are so adorable! I'll bet I could sit and watch them for hours! ~karen
