A Day Out at Cornish Birds of Prey Centre.

I gave John a Falconry experience for his birthday earlier in the year and he finally got around to doing it on Saturday. It was a brilliant afternoon and he got to handle a lot of Owls and Falcons and even fly several of them. I went along to do my David Bailey bit and would highly recommend it. Although the bigger birds are very impressive, for John the bird of the day was the American Kestrel, which we have seen in the wild but didn't realise just how small it is.

    Sounds and looks like you had a great time with good weather lovely selection of images. I think that American Kestrel looks great as well a star of the show. Like the Red Tail Hawk and Peregrine images and your header is fantastic.

    Lisa, My son and is fiancee did the same thing at centre parcs and thought it was brilliant. The female Harris Hawk was a beast and nipped the handler on the nose. They probably told you that they are the only raptor hunt in packs.

    I like the Raptor photo's. I too was amazed at how small the American kestrel is. I only realized it when we went to out village fair a few weeks ago when Eagle Heights was there with their birds.

    Have not been on for a couple of days, but glad you had a great time at CBOP Centre I told you you would love it John its a really fantastic place.
