  1. It may be the last of the dragonflies for the year, but just think of all the nymphs that are overwintering in a pond near you! Love the preening godwit.

  3. An absolutely wonderful collection of images, John - every one top notch! Your subject, too, are mouth-watering. I've still not seen a Golden-ringed Dragon for years (they don't occurr in these parts) - something I intend to put right next year.

  5. A great series of pictures, John and Sue. The ones of the Black-tailed Godwit are particularly striking it seems to me. Godwits are rarities here and the only two we see are Hudsonian and Marbled. As you say dragonfly season is drawing to a close but I am sure there will be lots of other things to keep up your interest.

  8. Great selection here. Love the Whiskered Tern, a real rarity. I had some crazy views of a R B Shrike today too. Fabulous bird.
