I'VE JUST BEEN BIRDING LOCALLY THIS WEEK.
FIRST STOP WAS RESTRONGUET FOR THE DALMATIAN PELICAN
THEN AROUND TO DEVORAN FOR THE GREENSHANK,
KINGFISHER AND SPOTTED REDSHANK.
THE WATER RAIL WAS TAKEN AT STITHIANS.

    The Dalmatian Pelican must be an infrequent visitor to the UK. Great sighting I am sure and a wonderful series of images of various other species. Life is truly never dull for a birder is it?

    Good to see you got some pictures of the Dalmatian Pelican. I saw it on 5th October at Fremington Quay, Devon, not too far out.
    Your 2nd Greenshank picture is in my opinion the better of the 2.

    I love the way that you've captured the pelican with the light shining through its throat in the first image, John. Your Water Rail images are delightful, but it's hard to beat a Nuthatch in that pose - beautifully executed!

    Some great captures of some birds you do not get to see that often. The Water Rail is amazing. A Dalmatian Pelican is also not that obvious to see in nature. The Kingfisher in the rain is lovely.

    I think it is the first time I see a Dalmatian pelican!
    Great pic its open beak in the counter-light!
    The Greenshank is gorgeous, a bird I don't get to photograph often.
    I love the Kingfisher in the rain... too focussed to care! LOL!
