Haven't done much birding since we got back. Been out twice but it is very quiet.
Thank goodness the Butterflies are making an appearance, which fills a gap and is something
we both look forward to.
This Cuckoo startled us by dropping onto a post in front of us and calling (which was nice).
The Cuckoo shots (amongst others) are stunning.

ReplyDeleteWe can't take much credit for the Cuckoo as it did literally drop in front of us. We were looking at Green Hairstreaks, which were everywhere at the Beacon. Sue and John
Andy, We were on foot and just about to leave as there were no birds about.
Kevin, thanks for the correction, will put it right. Azure sounds much nicer than Common Blue.
SUPERB images John & Sue, as always. Cuckoo is stunning. Best wishes, A.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely collection of shots from China I wish i was with you. Have just got back from the Mainland and seen Red Kites at Porthcurno & a white Throat at the Minack Theatre but had no equipment with me as too busy visting family.
ReplyDeleteSuch a delightful array of photos. So nice to see the wilds from your little corner of the world. That Cuckoo literally "plopped" down on that post! How funny! Maybe trying to draw your attentions away from the direction in which you were heading? ~karen
