Here are some pictures from the last few days. Nice to see some decent butterflies, they are not as numerous as last year. Hoping to catch up with some Dragonflies over the week-end.
This shot shows where the Elephant Hawk-Moth gets it's name. It's the first one we've seen.
Our Daughter found it in her garden and brought it to us to identify.
Strange that they are not that many in your area... I saw tons of them in France and enjoyed taking pictures of them.... Nice collection you have and I hope you will see more.
I'm not familiar with moths and butterflies; however, I do appreciate their variation and colour. I also appreciate your ability to capture these beauties and share them with us.
I am forever amazed at your glorious captures! Outstanding details and colors. Stunning butterfly images! Fantastic find of the Elephant Hawk-Moth. I've never seen one before. I can see where it gets its name. Once again, exceptional series of photographs!
What a cool post once again with a lot of different species. I hope that the moth (that I've never seen ;-) has a better look than the caterpillar that I had never seen neither. It is a quite impressive one!
Such beautiful pictures! I especially like the one with bumblebee inside a flower.

ReplyDeleteNice and beautiful creatures. The Hover-fly and Moth are my favourites.
ReplyDeleteSuperb images. I love the Small Copper; a beautiful butterfly.
ReplyDeleteNice variation of insects and the bee that has the strpes on top is quite interesting, as is the Elephant Moth Caterpillar, very cool~

Fantastic collection! I like the small copper crowded onto one small flower with the two bees. Must have been extra special pollen.
ReplyDeleteSuper selection of images and lovely detail and colours. Not had a chance to use my Macro lense this Summer!
ReplyDeleteAmazing collection of shots, nice one.
ReplyDeleteGood shots. Nice to see the Brimstone.

ReplyDeleteYou photography is 1st class.
The Elephant Hawkmoth shots beautifully convey why it has that name. Lovely work.
