Spoonbills are such wonderful birds to see, in no small part because their bills are so outrageous. I remember the first time I ever saw a Roseate Spoonbill (my first spoonbill ever) and I came upon about a dozen of them in Ding Darling National Park in Florida. It was a moment of high excitement in a birder's life, never to be forgotten.
A beauty, heard it was there, would have gone for a look, but can't at the moment, superb shots John. Im a little envious as I have never seen one, nicely done mate.
Hi David. We are going to Florida in Feb 2016,and one of our stops will be at Ding Darling NWR,would love to see Mangrove Cuckoo, which will be difficult, but possible. John.
Hello John, Once I saw Spoonbills far away. You are Lucky to have been able to make such beautiful captures of them. Love the one in flight. Regards, Roos

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely bird. I've never seen one, and knowing me would probably mistake it for an egret!
