CATCHING UP.

Here are a few shots from the last couple of weeks.The Great White Egret is some way off. 

The Ring Ouzel would also have been closer had it not been for an elderly couple who 

flushed them after I had spent ages creeping up on them (the birds not the couple!).

Hoopoe at Polgigga.

I managed to get the Hoopoe at Polgigga Cricket Ground today. 

One of the half dozen or so in West Cornwall at the moment.

Despite it keeping to the bushes, I did manage to get 

a few shots of the Little Bunting at Gulval.

What a lovely marked bird it is.

KING FOR A DAY.

I got this 1st winter Drake King Eider at Maenporth yesterday, where he had for 

a time, teamed up with a female Common Eider. This is a lifer for me.

These shots have been heavily cropped as it was so far out. 

BLACK REDSTART AT FALMOUTH.

I had a great couple of hours at Falmouth today. 

Have tried for this beauty more than once. 

 Saw a couple of Grey Wagtails. The second one appears to be 

 missing a tail so not sure it will do much wagging.

SNOW BUNTINGS at GOTHIAN SANDS

 I Finally got down to Gothian Sands for the Snow Buntings. 

Only had a short break in the weather to get them and they were quite flighty. 

Finally met Mike (Kernow Birder) and Harvey the dog for the first time

 and it was great to have their company.

 We have been following each others blogs and realised that we actually went to school together.
