This pair of Sparrows bred in our garden nest box. I say they, but he fled the scene and left her to raise 4 chicks on her own, which she did successfully.
A week after they had all fledged he returned and starting rebuilding the nest and sits on top of the nest box most days singing. So far he has had no takers.
great shots of these Sparrows! In my garden, a few weeks ago, there were young Great Tits , they were so curious that one of them flew on my leg and head while i was making photo's of them! That was a great experience!
Well, that's life ;-) He had built the house and he probably thought that she could raise the kids ;-) Excellent post and nice pictures!

Great shots love to see and hear those sparrows and you have some very fine feeding images there.
ReplyDeleteLovely shots - the last chick is so funny - "Mum!! hurry up I'm hungry". Looks like you had a lovely trip over the pond!
ReplyDeleteAwe so, cute and so satisfying having them so close to observe, enjoy and photograph!
ReplyDeleteThey are not as common in my garden as they used to be although they do seem to be making a bit of a comeback, thank goodness!
